Guanella Pass

Saturday afternoon, we took a family drive to the mountains. We headed out 285 so we could go to Guanella Pass. It was absolutely beautiful! It always amazes me, though, that you can drive to "the middle of nowhere" in Colorado, and still run into hundreds of people! Definitely not like Wyoming! Seeing these rams on the side of the mountain were a special treat! We always enjoy spotting animals that Robbie may someday put on our wall ;-) This particular group of rams included 4... but this was my favorite picture.
Here we are hiking next to a waterfall. It was about 15 degrees cooler next to the falls! It is a little nerve-wracking hiking near rushing water with little children in tow. Perhaps in the near future, Robbie and I will take a couples only hike so we can only fear for our own lives!
Here is one of Robbie's famous self-portraits :-) (That also includes the rest of us!)
Here is Robbie with Abby, Makenzie and Will. It's interesting the personality traits that come out when hiking (even if it's a super tiny, short hike...) Makenzie was suddenly afraid of bears and wanted to go back to the car. Will has no fear and wanted to climb STRAIGHT up the mountain. Abby wanted to stop frequently to smell flowers and have her picture taken.
This was our first stop. This particular bridge means alot to me. This is where Robbie and I went right after we were married. I have a picture of Robbie on this bridge... back when he had hair! So, it's fun to finally take our kids here!
Here are my most favorite people on the bridge... Of course, Will gets clingy now and then... and he had to be clingy while I was taking this picture... so I am holding Will on my right hip, while taking a picture with my left hand!!!
Robbie took this picture. I love the detail...
Here is some randomness in mountain life... We ran into these chickens as we came off the bridge. We had a good time throwing hamburger buns to them!
One of the few waterfalls we stopped to look at. It was such a nice day! I love Colorado!
