Nice dreads!

I never sleep for enough hours in a row at night for dreams... so the reason I am sharing this is because I actually had a dream last night that I remember! It was bizarre, really. I have no idea what prompted it!

I was standing in a really long line at Elitches. I looked over and saw a group of three scraggily looking guys. They were wearing t-shirts and being escorted out for each hiding a knife in the small of their back. (Don't ask me how I knew what the problem was... it was in my dream!) As they walked past, I commented out loud how retarded it was to try and smuggle knives into a setting such as this. They glared right back at me, so I turned away.

Flash forward to me and the kids driving on our canoe (I know... come on, right?!) Across a huge lake highway to a camping spot (yes, on water! Inflatable tents?) to meet some friends. Robbie was to meet us later after work. We got to our destination and began setting up. It was a bit tricky doing camp setup on water. We had some kind of cool boat shoes.

While setting up, I noticed two nasty looking guys approach us. They looked none to happy, and I could tell they were sent to "pay me a visit" from the "knife guys at Elitches." They delivered their message... something about watching out... The part I really remember was being so terrified that I felt the need to butter them up. I told the first guy thank you. When I went to tell the second guy thank you I also said that his dreadlocks were supercool and he pulled them off really well. They were dark black, super long and he was wearing a big seventies style colorful hat. Upon closer inspection, I realized this mean looking dude was a talking grizzly bear and I greatly irritated him with the "buttering up."

He attacked me... biting down not letting go. Somehow I squeezed his neck till he passed out... (I know... passed out talking bear with dreadlocks...) Of course, after that, we had to hurry and break camp and I had to begin the process of entering the witness protection program to avoid this talking bear for the rest of my life.

Maybe it's better that I don't sleep enough to dream usually. I woke up terrified and couldn't get back to sleep for awhile!

Oh. My. Gosh. What did you eat before bed?! I just hate crazy dreams that make you scared to go back to sleep. Sheesh! I like the idea of inflatable floating tents, though. Sounds fun and also very dangerous!

Thanks for the great laughing out loud that your story afforded! Sorry about the talking dread-locked bear. Check out "reed islands" on Lake Titicaca for floating camping... you might enjoy it! :)

I had pizza for dinner. I realize now that it could have come from conversations I had with Brandi Hadfield while eating dinner... we talked about her upcoming girls camp (not on a lake, though...) and also we talked about going to Elitches when she gets back.

If any of you have seen the movie, Scooby Doo 2... I think that is where the bear comes in. I watched a little bit of that movie the night before... the part where Shaggy and Scooby go to the bad guy hang out -> dressed in bad 70's clothes!
