It's a Great Day!

Yesterday was one of those "perfect days." Since Robbie is home with a broken rib, we were able to have some fun family time. We got up early (thank you Will!) got our little boat ready, packed some snacks and headed to Quincy Reservoir. It was our maiden voyage on the boat and I forgot the camera!!! It was fun puttering around on the water. Will did rather well for the first while. He got tired of being confined, though... so Robbie took us ashore, then took the girls back out.

Will shows me everyday how "boy" he really is. While on the beach, I followed him around as he looked at every rock and pebble, handing me his favorites. It was especially exciting when he discovered moving pebbles. Upon closer inspection, he discovered the new frontier of ants! He chattered non-stop while watching them scurry here and there. Quite exciting!

Dark clouds were fast approaching (as were Robbie, Makenzie and Abby.) We tossed the kids in the car and began loading the boat. I wore crocs, so I went in the water to push it onto the trailer. Robbie was reeling it in. I asked if the rope was sturdy enough the be doing that ... and the rope snapped. He quickly changed out ropes, we got the boat on the trailer, hopped in the car just in time for huge rain drops! It rained and poured for the little drive home.

When we got to the house, some how Abby got her hand shut in the car door. Robbie was sure it was broken and wanted to go to the ER. I was just not up for another ER visit this month... so I suggested we ice it for a little bit. It all ended well... just sore and now a more careful Abby!

I took a two hour nap. It was heaven!

We played croquet (with our own special rules... just don't hit anyone with a mallet) then ran through a sprinkler.

Robbie took Will out for a spin in the corvette... his first ride ever! He loved it! All in all, it was a great day. One of those days when saying a night time prayer that you just smile and thank the Lord for everything.

What a day! That croquet game sounds like fun. Poor Abby's hand, and how cute that Will was watching the 'moving rocks'. Sometimes I try to get Xac to take a look at nature (cows, birds, etc.) and he does not seem interested, so it is good to hear that Will does that.
